Another magical day for wedding photography. The ceremony was held in the beautiful St Thomas’s church in Ashton in Makerfield, a few miles out of Liverpool. We then went on to the lovely Farington Lodge in Preston for the evening reception. Col and Lucy were nice and chilled the whole day and were both a pleasure to photograph and spend the day with! Have posted a few more photos than normal for this blog… but sometimes it’s just too hard to choose!

A Beautiful Wedding in Fulham Palace, London.

Was great to be invited to photograph the wedding of the awesome Kiwi couple Anna and Duncan in London. Having lived in London twice before, I always enjoy going back from time to time. This was my first wedding at the fantastic Fulham Palace - and what a great day it was. I haven’t heard so many Kiwi accents in months and was great to soak up a taste of home for a day! Cheers Anna/Duncan and all the other Kiwis for an awesome day!

Claire and Neil decided to “get hitched” in Liverpool recently. Neil’s parents proposed on the Liverpool waterfront… so they wanted to continue the theme and have a few shots in and around the waterfront. Another beautiful day was had - with a fab Liverpool couple! We then headed to the classic Adelphi Hotel for a “bit of a do.” Cheers for an awesome day Claire and Neil.

Am finally getting round to updating the blog! Five weddings down already this year and 15 more to go! There’s also a lot of extremely organised people out there booking in for next year too - with half the bookings been taken already. The English “summer” has been its usually unpredictable self… which has meant some tense pre-wedding moments for both bride and groom. They say nothing falls like London rain - and the wedding I had in London was true to form with misty rain for most of the day. But it’s amazing what a nice white umbrella will do to add an extra special element to photographs. I’ll upload a few to show shortly.

I’m uploading a few more shots than usual to give a better feel for the day as it unfolds - so enjoy!
This wedding was up in Dalton. Amazing what half an hour’s drive will do. Out in the country driving through wheatfields to arrive at a cute old church. Needless to say bride arriving in horse and cart!

The day was greeted with a heavy downpour - not a good start! By the time we arrived at Saint Nicholas’ Church, the sun was out and things were looking up! And good ol’ Liverpool stayed that way for the rest of the magic day! We were lucky to be allowed on top of the new ferry building on the Mersey to get some great shots with the Liver building and Three Graces in the background… a fantastic day with an amazing couple. Wedding season is hotting up!

…Even if the weather isn’t! Was lovely seeing some snow outside today - big soft snowflakes falling from the sky… wedding bookings are filling up for 2009 and plenty of people are already booking in for 2010! I’m capping the number of weddings I do this year at 20. That way I have more time to focus on each wedding and attention to detail will be at its maximum! I’ll be updating my blog regularly with different aspects of wedding photography - to show how a wide and varied coverage can make a difference in the whole look and feel of the special day. So stay tuned!

A Wonderful Wedding in Wales…

An amazing autumnal day greeted the bride and groom at Bodidris Hall, Wales. The golden leaves on the trees, the perfect blue sky with the rustic old castle in the background - it was a photographer’s dream (and not a bad day for a wedding either!) Being the last wedding of the year for Ant Clausen Photography - it was definitely a great opportunity to end on a high note - and the day certainly didn’t disappoint! Wedding Albums

Having researched the wedding album market for the past couple of years - Ant Clausen Photography has settled on Graphistudio Albums from Italy.

These are the best quality albums I have come across - and they also allow me to create my own design layouts - to give a completely bespoke and unique feel to each individual album.

They come in a vast array of styles and sizes to suit your needs. From see-through acrylic covers (see below) to brushed aluminium - there’s a “look and feel” to suit every taste.

Set in the beautiful west-coast of Scotland, this was always going to be a day to remember. People had travelled from all over the world to be here. Set in an old castle nestled in the woods - it was a truly memorable day at an amazing location. Here’s a few shots from the day…

Ant Clausen Wedding VIDEOGRAPHY

Time and time again I am being asked to recommend a good wedding videographer with a similar contemporary style to my photography. Now don’t get me wrong, I know there are some great videographers out there - it’s just that I haven’t found any that are similar to my reportage photographic style. So it didn’t take too long for the penny to drop. Having had previous videography experience - i’ve decided to bundle a special package for those looking for both still photography and videography for their special wedding day.
That way you only have to deal with myself and you are assured of a quality product from a reliable source.
I am very excited about adding this element to my wedding packages and plan to “lift the bar” in the wedding videography market.
The style/look and feel will be a funky, catchy video that will entertain your family and friends alike. There will also be short 5 - 10 min highlight versions that can be downloaded onto iPods etc.
